astrona login

Sign in to your Astrona account (catalog labs need it)

Synopsis

Sign this computer in to your Astrona account. Catalog labs (astrona run astrona.io/ATS014/…) are tied to your account: astrona run starts a lab session for you and opens the lab page, which tracks your time. Labs from your own files or repositories (-c / --git) don't need it.

Sign-in happens on the configured Astrona website: astrona opens its sign-in page in your browser. If you're already signed in there, check that the code matches the one in the terminal and click Authorize; otherwise sign in on that site first and you're brought back to that page. The terminal waits and finishes by itself. No password is ever typed into the terminal. On a machine without a browser, open the printed link on any device. --headless prints the link without opening a browser.

The sign-in is saved in ~/.astrona/credentials.json (readable only by you) and renewed automatically. astrona whoami shows who is signed in, astrona logout signs out.

The default site is https://astrona.io unless --site (or ASTRONA_URL) names another, for example http://localhost:3000 for local development. The site is remembered with the sign-in, so whoami, logout and catalog labs use it without repeating it; ASTRONA_URL still overrides it per command. Plain http:// is only accepted for localhost.

astrona login [flags]

Examples

  astrona login
astrona login --site http://localhost:3000 # local development; remembered
  ASTRONA_URL=https://staging.astrona.io astrona whoami

Options

  -h, --help help for login
--site string Sign in to this Astrona site (e.g. http://localhost:3000) instead of https://astrona.io; it's remembered for later commands

Options inherited from parent commands

--accept-terms Accept this CLI's usage terms and data-loss risk notice; required on each operational CI command (read: astrona terms)
-c, --config string Path or URL to the lab config directory (with --git: a subdirectory within the cloned repo) (default ".")
-f, --file string Configuration file name override (default "config.yaml")
--git string Git repository URL to clone/pull (https://, git@host:, or ssh://) — --config then selects a subdirectory within it
--git-ref string Git branch, tag, or commit to check out (used with --git; default: the repo's default branch)
--headless Disable the terminal UI and CLI prompts; run/reset skip login reminders and new account sessions
--install-version If the lab needs another astrona release (astronaVersion) that isn't installed, install it without asking — for CI
--trust Approve running a remote (--git / URL) lab without asking — for CI; review the lab first
--update-check Check for new CLI releases (disabled in CI, without a terminal, or by ASTRONA_NO_UPDATE_CHECK) (default true)
--verbose Stream the full output of every underlying command instead of the compact step view
